Hi, my name is Susana.

I am curious by nature, enjoy a good challenge and love any learning process.
Sharing my experiences is something I like to do and the reason why I started this blog.


I live in what I call a she-home – my elderly mother, two she-dogs Tussi, (a wired-haired Teckel) and Lucy (The bandit – a pos covid abandoned dog that won the lottery – and loves to steal food from anywhere) and last but not least my grown-up daughter and me.

My interests are (other than just learning anything) cooking, recycling, understanding all human chemical processes to maintain and improve our health and anything that will help me grow.

Food at our house plays an important role – we love a good meal but because it may impact our health and may harm us big time, I had to learn about it.


Let me explain, my mother has been diabetic since she was 13 years old -so no free eating for her – everything must be accounted for, and my daughter was diagnosed with celiac disease when she was 8 – so gluten is out of her diet, so I do not only need to know what impacts my mother’s bloodsugar, i need to know where you can find gluten and all about food safety.

My daughter Barbara is the main reason I decided to share our experience living a gluten-free lifestyle, our challenges, our tricks and we found out works for us. In this blog, I will be sharing my recipes, and showing you how easy it is to cook them.

I will use easy to find ingredients and hopefully make you understand that you do not need to change to weird and foreign ingredients, unless you want to, in order to eat gluten-free! And mainly that gluten-free is tasty!

I hope to make your journey into the gluten-free world easier and help you create a safe environment for yourself and make your family and friends enjoy your food by providing a variety of recipes you can serve them and that they will not know it is gluten-free unless you tell them!

By sharing all these recipes, and our journey into the gluten-free world, we want to help others have a smoother transition to this new diet that is the only path to a healthy life for all celiacs and increase awareness about this diagnosis.

My background? 30 years in hotel management, always taking care of others’ well-being!
